The Vikings’ historic women’s basketball season came to a close March 25, falling to West Virginia’s Glenville State College 85-72 at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

WWU was led by a 27-point, 12-rebound double-double from sophomore forward Brooke Walling who was 12-for-16 shooting. Senior guard Emma Duff added 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds.

Following the team’s first national title game in its 51-season history, the women’s basketball team appeared at T-Mobile Park for a Mariners game April 17. After being introduced to the crowd, senior guard Dani Iwami threw out the first pitch with Duff and senior guard Gracie Castaneda by her side on the mound.
