Setting the record straight on the ‘Dr. J’ Scholarship

The scholarship is open to any student who is a social justice activist
Window magazine staff

Our story in the spring 2021 edition of Window, “The Art of Translation,” about Fairhaven student Rukhsar Sadat, included an error regarding which students are eligible for the Vernon Damani Johnson “Dr. J” Scholarship. The scholarship is open to any student who is a social justice activist, not just students of color.

We regret the error and thank "Dr. J," a lifetime advocate for multicultural democracy, for kindly bringing it to our attention. Learn more about the Dr. J Scholarship on the website of the Political Science Department: chss.wwu.edu/political-science.
