In-person commencement is scheduled to make a comeback in Carver next month.

Western is planning two in-person ceremonies Dec. 11 to celebrate summer and fall 2021 graduates, who will be the first to walk across the stage in Carver since December 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Graduates and their guests, four per graduate, will need proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to attend the ceremony in person.

Alumni whose graduations were held virtually in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic will be invited to join an in-person commencement ceremony in the future. This first one back in Carver is just for summer and fall grads.

Of course, officials continue to monitor the changing conditions of the pandemic and may change plans if needed to protect the health of graduates, families and the community.
