Maria Sigüenza joins Board of Trustees

Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Maria Sigüenza, ’10, B.A., psychology, to Western’s Board of Trustees.

Sigüenza, who began her term on the board Oct. 1, is the executive director of the Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs, a cabinet agency whose mission is to improve public policy by advising the governor, state Legislature and state agencies on issues affecting Latine and Hispanic residents of Washington.

She also serves as acting executive director to the state’s Women’s Commission, charged to support gender equity and improve economic and social conditions for women in Washington.
