The best-selling author will be the keynote speaker for Western's virtual MLK event

Ijeoma Oluo, ‘07, B.A., political science, author of the New York Times bestseller, “So You Want to Talk About Race,” and the newly published “Mediocre: The Dangerous Legacy of White Male America” will be the keynote speaker at Western‘s virtual Martin Luther King, Jr. event Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, in collaboration with Whatcom Community College, Northwest Indian College and Bellingham Technical College.

In addition to the virtual event, the community is encouraged to make MLK Day a “day on,” not a “day off” by doing meaningful community service as we reflect on the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Watch for event registration and a list of opportunities to participate in COVID-safe community service at wwu.edu/mlk.
